We fund people,
not just programs.

Otigo Foundation is just getting started. Our full website is on the way, but you don’t have to wait to get involved.

Meet Otigo

In 2025, the Otigo Foundation was created from a simple idea: Let’s support the people behind the nonprofit sector.

When people are truly supported in doing the work they’re passionate about, they are able to keep at it.

The reality is that talented nonprofit workers leave the sector (or their positions or organizations) because they can't afford to stay. Otigo exists to shift this trend.

Serving the public good shouldn’t cost the people who serve it.

In 2025, 7 in 10 nonprofit workers looked for a new job, according to the Social Impact Staff Retention project. When workers are fairly paid and supported, they stay longer, their organizations get stronger—and so do all of our communities.

We make multi-year grants that cover the true cost of employing nonprofit workers, including salaries and benefits. Either way, we keep applications and reporting light.

Since 2025, we’ve granted $1.5M in New York City and beyond, to organizations including CHiPS, DIV Fund, and University Settlement.

Introducing the
Workers Decide Fund.

Launching in spring 2027, Otigo’s Workers Decide Fund will grant $400,000 toward NYC nonprofit worker wellbeing. This new, participatory grantmaking program will be guided by a committee of NYC nonprofit workers who will decide where the money goes.

Can I apply for funding?

We don't accept unsolicited funding requests or letters of interest. When we open a funding opportunity, we announce it in our newsletter and on LinkedIn. Our Workers Decide Fund will release a request for proposals in 2027.

What kinds of grants do you make?

We make multi-year grants that cover the true cost of employing nonprofit workers, including salaries and benefits. Our approach is relational and trust-based, and we keep the burden on reporting low so people can stay focused on what matters: serving the public good.
